Why the name
BE HELD?

In 2014 I felt the strong call to vocational ministry. I accepted the calling on my life, however I had no idea where God would use me or what my next steps should be. I founded "BE HELD" ministries in 2015 after landing on girls and women's ministry. I felt the strong urge to love on women, serve women and encourage women. I was in my college dorm room when the song "Just Be Held" by Casting Crowns came on. The lyrics are at the end of the page if you would like to read them. I soon knew that this song was exactly what I was trying to say but couldn't find the words to say it. I started praying and searching when I found a true peace that this needed to be the name of my ministry... That soon pushed me to begin searching what this ministry would be: that soon blossomed into speaking at youth groups and women's events where I got to share the love of Jesus with women and encourage them to love themselves and invite them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

So why the name "Be Held"? The idea is this...whether you are having the best day ever or your worst day imaginable, you can always sit at the feet of Jesus and unload...sit in peace...word vomit...cry...rejoice...

Now the image in my head is simply this...as women we are compared, compressed, pushed, pulled, stretched...however, at the end of the day, we can boldly or sluggishly crawl into the arms of Jesus and just Be Held. So what about in labor? Same is true. We are pushed and challenged. We are working WITH our body but sometimes the wave overtakes and we physically NEED the strength of the Lord to carry on. May I invite you to crawl into the lap of Jesus and just be held during your labor? Can I invite you to let go during each wave and melt into the arms of Jesus? Would you invite Jesus into your birth space and make it a time of surrender? Just be held, friend. He's got you!

After the birth of my first son in 2020 did not go as planned, I desired to know more about childbirth, the connection one can have with the Lord during birth, and just how mothers did it unmedicated. This drove me to become a certified doula where I could learn and grasp the concepts but also be able to support women in labor and delivery. I am now a Certified Doula through Childbirth International.

Being a doula is the dream job! I get to love, serve and encourage women during the journey of meeting the sweet tiny baby they have worked so hard for. I love being in the birth space but I also light up when I get to discuss and teach childbirth with an expecting couple.

I have also breastfed all three of my children and love educating the beauty of feeding a human with your body through breastmilk. God designed our bodies so perfectly and innately that we are not only able to grow a baby for 9-10 months but then turn around and nourish that baby. I obviously enjoy sharing just how wild it is to grow a human being and then be able to feed that human being! Breastfeeding is definitely a full-time job, but man it is beautiful. Thank you Jesus!

*I truly just nerd out about our bodies and how perfectly designed they are. Remember mama, God designed your body KNOWING you were going to birth this baby. You CAN do this!

Just Be Held Lyrics, by Casting Crowns

Hold it all together
Everybody needs you strong
But life hits you out of nowhere
And barely leaves you holding on

And when you're tired of fighting
Chained by your control
There's freedom in surrender
Lay it down and let it go

So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away
You're not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place
I'm on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
Just be held, just be held

If your eyes are on the storm
You'll wonder if I love you still
But if your eyes are on the cross
You'll know I always have and I always will

And not a tear is wasted
In time, you'll understand
I'm painting beauty with the ashes
Your life is in My hands

So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away
You're not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place
I'm on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
Just be held, just be held

Lift your hands, lift your eyes
In the storm is where you'll find Me
And where you are, I'll hold your heart
I'll hold your heart
Come to Me, find your rest
In the arms of the God who won't let go

So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away
You're not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place
I'm on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
(Stop holding on and just be held)
Just be held, just be held
Just be held, just be held
